The Bristle Brush Trail

"One sees great things from the valley; only small things from the peak." G.K. Chesterton

We could see for miles.

The precipice of Bryce Canyon, Utah, was surreal: hoodoos and outstanding views! It looked as if God poured acid from the clouds, creating a melted maze of fire. We blazed a trail....

The namesake pine: Bristle Brush.

A weathered cow skull? Or roots from an ancient tree. You decide.

The Martian surface.

The end of Utah in 2019.

WE=e were supposed to visit the Utah National Parks this year but I guess we will have to wait a little longer. It was nice to see it through your camera lens, Sharon.

This is stunning! Was this a day hike or did you stay overnight? It seems pretty strenuous from the high elevation you reached! I am sure it was well worth the sore muscles the next day. Those views are spectacular

Sharon - a very thought-provoking quote! Isn't it amazing that anything can grow in that environment? Gorgeous photos. Thanks for sharing with everyone at Mosaic Monday!

I went there once back in the 90s on a solo camping trip between jobs. It was beautiful but being afraid of heights the trails weren't very good for me. - Margy

I thought that was a long horn steer skull at first then realized it was a tree with roots jutting up. Incredible view!!

The red color is dominant , and contrasts well with the blue of the sky and the green of the vegetation.
I like the photo with your hubby.
In your previous post I noticed more people. That's good. We, people are an important part of the landscape. It's dull without us.

One of the states I would love to visit when I get the chance. I was about to spend my 30th birthday in California but yeah, covid happened. Hope you are doing well and thank you for these spectacular photos of Utah!

such a wonderful place, we visited it in May 2019, and after 30°C in Moab, we were greeted with 0°C and snow in Bryce canyon.

I especially like the Martian surface. I totally misread the scale of it at first which makes me like it even more.
