Lesson

The dictionary first describes lesson as the act of reading. Lesson is the http://www.illustrationfriday.com/ theme of the day.

I completed this illustration for the 2010 MNSCBWI annual conference. I was the previous year's winner of the mentor ship award with illustrator Carrie Hartman. I handed over my crown and turned in this illustration the next year. It was used on all the conference brochures and materials. My favorite part is the sleeping/dead squirrel on the lower branch. Sleeping? Dead? You be the judge...

Sleeping for sure. If he was dead, he would've fallen out of the tree. This illo is too cute!

Sleeping for sure, Sharon!

The beautiful cards arrived last week and I have been showing them off to family and friends....haven't posted on my blog for awhile though.

I say it is SLEEPING! I love squirrels and can't bear the thought of it being dead.

I took your print and a few others in to be framed a couple of weeks ago. Just picked them all up today. Will be hanging yours and a few others in my new office....I will be making a video once they are all up and hope to have it on my blog before the month is over!

How cool that the dictionary mentions reading first. I'm an avid reader. In fact, I think reading is what inspires my art. I couldn't do art without the inspiration of words.
