Around Antigua

You'll find numerous, intriguing, architectural ruins on a walking tour around Antigua, Guatemala. I'll get to those ravaged beauties later. Today, I'm simply posting a photo safari of life on the streets...

All life in Antigua starts with a volcano view.

I love this photo capturing the indigenous ladies walking through the arch.

Here, the ladies are taking a break from tourist patrol. (It's an understatement to say they hawk their wares aggressively)

Peeling beauty.

Crinkled walls.

Everything is weathered and worn, beautifully.

Monkey box.

The tripped-out buses propell through town like disco balls on jet fuel.

Sometimes, the best way to enjoy a city is with a refreshing and tasty beverage - like these mezcal- jalapeno drinks from delicious Cactus.

A perch with a view.

I'd like to shout a big thank you to the blogging friends that participated in my very first link-up. Let's keep it going! If you have a travel post, link up here and help me spread the word to wandering bloggers world wide.

Happy Independence Day!

Loved taking this walk with you... you notice and share the kind of details that make it seem as if we really were there with you. Beautiful archway photo and I very much like the peeling beauty .... and your macro of it. (And the drinks .... even though I’ve just finished my breakfast coffee.....) And PS, Can you let us know your plans for what day and time your link party will go up ?

Thanks for taking me along on a photographic tour with you. Some lovely structures they have. Cute little monkey picture on the motorcycle. Since I don't travel and have travel photos, I didn't link up but I will add your blog hop link to my Pictorial Tuesday. :)

I love all the colors. I'm not so sure about a cactus jalapeno drink though?

Places with buildings painted in bright colors always make me feel cheerful, and inclined to throw a bikini in a bag and fly to the closest beach!

Thanks for really informative and amusing photo tour.
I wonder how old some of those really old looking buildings are?
Great photos Sharon..
