Pet Cemetery: Real or Unreal

Our Pet Cemetery is a place of peace and whispering pines. There's plenty of crunchy leaves, muddy tracks, dappled light, rocky ridge-lines, lichen and spicy smells. You might hear a grouse beating invisible drums. Or a distant snort.

Obviously, you'll find dead critters, bleached bones and loose fur marking random crime scenes. But, some things stand upright and roam around. Unseen.

Spooky.

Deer. Always deer. But, is this critter real? Or unreal?

No butts about it. Fake. A decoy. Plastic. (it didn't even scare our cats)

Akua inside the guts.

Still, it's fun to check the trail cam for the real thing.

Happy Halloween!

Sharon - what a cute post for Halloween! Initially, I was fooled by the decoy - I thought it had on some sort of necklace!!! As we walk around our woods in Montana, we are always finding bones and "crime scenes". Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

Your trail cam is a lot of fun. I love all the critters. We have a green space behind our house. I think a trailcam would show off a whole different kind of wildlife.

Happy Halloween to you too - you are really getting into the spirit! I had to chuckle as my parents have installed one of these cameras - you do well with what you capture, they are just hoping for the odd hedgehog!

Wow amazing all these wild animals. Gorgeous pictures. Couldn't make out what the one on the first picture is. Looks to me like a baby elephant.

I do love that bobcat. We left the ashes of our beloved Mr. Hudson by the side one our favourite river side spots.

I think all I'd get is deer too, but I still like seeing what you get on the critter cam. Nice shot of the bobcat. Hoping you're feeling ok.

The bobcat and the deer with the huge rack are amazing! Or is that an elk?
