Pretty Grebe

I caught what I think is a young Grebe on Grass Lake last night.  I'm not sure if it young or a Grebe.  But it has some fluffy feathers.  And with my limited knowledge I think it is a grebe.  Do any of my unfeathered friends from Wild Bird Wednesday know what it is?  I'm sure you do.  The air was humid, the lighting was soft and pretty and the birds filled the lake last night.  Just the way I like it.

I think it's an adult pied grebe. :) Nice!! They are usually shy birds, therefore not easy to photograph.

I'm pretty sure this is a pied billed grebe...and they are quite small compared to others.

Nice one Sharon.

Definitely an adult Pied-billed Grebe in breeding plumage.

I'm not certain if he's a grebe or not, but he's magnificent. :). And so is your photo of him.

Nice picture - and as other people have said, grebes are hard to get good shots of.

Love the cat in the drawer!

PS: I was in central Australia all last week, hence slow reply!

looks even better in the low sunlight. :) It is none of "our species" of that I am sure.
