We stopped by the side of the road to bird watch.
5 random reasons to carry a machete in Central America.
1) Tourist control.
2) In case you can't find a tooth pick.
3) Everyone has one and you would look like a fool without it. (No joke!)
4) You might drop your butter knife on the floor at dinner.
5) It's a jungle out there...

Thanks for the info:)!! I'll remember those points when I carry mine:)
And here I thought they were just for cutting limes and mangoes off the trees...
Good grief ;-0!!!
Oh, my goodness! I'll try to remember this if I travel there. I wouldn't want to look out of place. :-)
Tourist control! Lol. I'll be laughing at that all day!
These are all great reasons, Sharon. Thanks for joining in today!
no joke? I must remember to pack mine if I ever get to go.
Too funny! I'll try to remember! Have a great week.
Very funny!
You just reminded me of an ancient memory of sitting in my first publico (public transportation) in Puerto Rico. The guy sitting next to me had a machete in his hand! Happy summer, and I love that door header, although I miss that cute little chipmunk. :-)
I used to carry one, but they took it from at the airport...
I'll be sure to avail myself of one before traveling there! Thanks for your insight.
I think those are good reasons too.

Smiling here! I live in a resort town so I'm wondering...
LOL I have a machete for yard work. It makes me feel very powerful, like a pirate. I have to control myself to keep from swinging it around my head like a sword. Seriously, I have banana trees in yard.and that is the only way to cut them.
You are a hoot. :)
