Heaven's Gate

I thought Heaven's Gate was the perfect choice for boundaries. The theme du jour over at www.illustrationfriday.com It portrays my cat "Baby" peering outside a fence. In reality she could easily slip through the weathered gates. But then we wouldn't be able to see her beautiful face. I called it Heaven's Gate because she is living for eternity beyond the Rainbow ridge. Or bridge. Hmmm. I still think this is one of my best pieces. I almost expect her eyes to dilate right in front of me. Our new cats Hana and Akua are easy going lap lovers. Baby loved to sit in our laps alright. But if you sneezed or laughed she would look up at you, her eyes would dilate and you just might get a paw in the face before she ran off in a huff. She was as good as she was bad.

Heisann!
I also used my cat for a model in a piece for IF's JOURNEY. She is not living anymore, not coming home to me...anymore!
She was exactly like your beautiful drawn cat.
Can I cut and paste your dragonflies on my post called Dragonflyhttp://viltogvakkert.blogspot.com/2011/02/dragonfly.html

I love the texture of the wood. We had a cat like baby. We called her Ditter the bitch. Ditter because when our son was young instead of saying here kitty kitty he said here ditter ditter and bitch is self explanitory. We buried her in our yard and planted a crabapple over her with a plague that read "crabby but loved for 16 years"
