Florida: Part 2

Day 11

Lover's Key

A swarm of gulls and terns looks better with fisheye. You know, I don't miss my old camera that much. Sure, it had a longer zoom, and more features that I never used. But my even older camera is light weight and capable of capturing photos in an off-kilter, drunk, and googly eyed way - kind of like me. The highlight of the week was mating manatees splashing, snorting, and smacking their tails in the estuary! I didn't try to take photos. I just watched with my eyes.

Follow them...

Day 11

My birthday!

Daiya chocolate cheesecake with homemade chocolate sauce and raspberries.

Day 12

Six Mile Cypress Slough

Day 13

Day 14

Do you see an extra critter?

Day 15

Crew Trails

Day 16

I'm lucky to have the freedom and safety to travel, untouched by war. There but for the grace of God go I...

Sharon - I am not one to rejoice in the troubles of others, but sometimes it offers us perspective. We are blessed in so many ways. I am drooling over the chocolate with raspberries ... And I adore the picture of the shells. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

You have a great talent to spot clickworthy subjects despite the googly eyed way. I particularly like the tern shot, night heron and fisheye effect. Happy birthday!

I hate to admit that I have a drawer full of expensive cameras and yet I mainly use my phone these days.

Very pretty pictures.

That birthday dessert looks amazing! I bet it was so neat to see the manatees; we saw one on our last Florida trip and it was definitely a highlight.

I am quite envious of your experience with the Manatees, a creature I have never seen, and one that is nudging perilously close to extinction.

I couldn't say which one of he photos I like the best, they are all different and very beautiful. I like the tree trunk but also the birds ! I remember you name too but not from which blog. My 4 cats all died but still they all made it to 19 or 20 years. Now I have the last one Rosie she is 15 but she doesn't do anything special to keep my cat blog ! Meanwhile we have sold our house and moved to an apartment because my husband is very ill he has Parkinson the worst version.

Nice capture with the fisheye. I'm kind of sorry now I sold my old fisheye lens. I didn't use it often, but I miss not having one.

Mmmm ... your birthday treat looks very tasty. Happy belated birthday! The seashell, waiting for the sea to capture it, captured my imagination. :)
