Charleston, South Carolina

This scene almost makes me want to go to church.

I've posted some of these photos before. But today, I want to explore the big city picture: the crumbles, lichen-covered crackles, and cemetery charm; the haunted alleys, sinful culinary delights, and devilish history; the restless souls, timeworn streets, and hoary oak trees; the beguiling churchyards. This is Charleston.

Sometimes photos bear repeating. Follow my feet...

The pawn man reminds me of Orlando Bloom with tats.

A haunted alleyway.
If you listen hard enough you might hear ricocheting bullets from a historic duel.

A mysterious midnight party is discovered by morning people.

A white delight!

A foreboding and haunted prison.

Lovely photos. I've missed visiting Charleston all these years and really should rectify that!

Sharon - what's the story with the beaver sculpture? I was fascinated by all the window boxes - so beautiful. I also liked the creativity of the ivy wall with the pots within it. Charleston is a beguiling destination! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

What beautiful photos! We've only been to Charleston once and it was at the end of July so it was much too hot to walk around and sight see in the heat and humidity. We did venture out in the evenings for a bit and I would love to go back.

Something about headstones make for fascinating photos. Interesting to see them along the walkway in the first photo!
