Day 1
Marvelous Miami from mid-air. Do you see the container ship arriving to port?
Day 2
Day 3
This wasp is 2-3 inches long. The biggest I've ever seen.
Day 4
Mr. Chestnut.
Day 5
Aracari.
Day 6
A salamander we discovered under a chaise cushion.
Day 7
Every night, a Jesus Christ lizard skims the surface of our little pool, hunting.
Day 8
Day 9
Afternoon drives are spent chasing waterfalls, the ones that pour down the mountain along the highway, almost hidden inside the jungle maw. Mornings are spent bird watching, but not counting. I would need the math skills of Alan Turing. Nights contain bugs aplenty, some that tickle the ears and others that drone with extreme velocity. The in-betweens are filled with papaya and mango tastings, tide pool testing, and sand extraction from tender parts.
Just the usual jungle stuff. Stay tuned....

Love those photos taken from the airplane, Sharon. A bird's eye view to match the beautiful tropical birds.
Oh, I love the view from above and what a fabulous place to visit! Look at those exotic birds! I linked today! Hugs, Diane
Very colorful , eye-catching post, with interesting birds and beautiful landscape!
Lovely photos, it's been a good year for wasps. We had a wasps nest with lots of Queens who were big! Have a great week :)

Great shots, as usual. I like the clever title. :-)
Looks like a wonderful place to visit. Splendid photos as always. Did you see the Jesus Christ Lizard walking on the water surface?
a wonderful suite of pictures...
Oh so lovely! Well worth the sand extraction. Envious of the birds; I wouldn't count either.
I would give that wasp a wide berth. Other than that there is so much to see.
Some charming critters (not the wasp)!
Hello, The exotic long beaked birds are fabulous, the Salamander and tiny lizard too. I also liked the viewsin the air and on land.:=)
The large wasp reminds me of the ones they are calling Murder Wasps that arrived from Asia and are trying to make nests in northern Washington State and BC. The murder honey bees so they are trying to eradicate them and their nests. - Margy
I'm looking forward to being back in Costa Rica with you (virtually). Jesus Christ... what a funny name for a lizard!
Loving your photos so much! I've heard about the Jesus lizards and would love to see one for myself.
Thanks for sharing your link at My Corner of the World this week!
Love the photos and your narrative of "just the the usual jungle stuff".
Wow. Looks so lovely - a fun looking place too, with all those colours!
I've always been a fan of lizards. I like the salamander too. I would not want to see a wasp that big though.
I love all the color in the second picture and of course those birds! Wow!
