“Every journey is simultaneously a beginning and an ending: I was leaving my old life behind and starting on a road trip to find a new me.” – Debi Tolbert Duggar
What a year! Uff da, Lutefisk, 2020. (my go-to phrase. I’m part Norwegian, after all) Or, there's the abbreviated phrase the Waffle House used to promote their cheesy eggs: Nuff said.
I remember being happy and hopeful about 2020. I'd survived cancer at the tail-end of 2019, and was enthusiastic about being alive. I always think about Margaret Mitchell, who was hit by a car and died after Gone with the Wind was published. The takeaway: I want to live now in case I get hit by a bus tomorrow. Sure, I canceled a few minor travel adventures. The big kahuna, Belize, happened pre-covid-style fear and loathing. (although, covid was probably already lurking here somewhere) The rest, I masked up for. My M.O. has always been outdoors, so I felt relatively safe amongst trees and grass. Basically, I stuck to take out and picnics. I wore double masks around people. Ew, people.
Now, there's a new Coronaviris strain from the U.K. to worry about, that's 70% more contagious. So, in 2021, my husband and I will be wearing our new N95's. Sigh. So stylish and sexy.
On the last and final week of 2020, I took a quick, photographic road trip down memory lane. I hope you enjoyed my souvenirs this year. I'm glad I have someone to share them with! You can always virtually travel here, safe and snug behind your computer.
Happy New Year!
Safe travels!
Thank you front line workers!

So many beautiful places you've been too, Thanks for hosting.
I love your beautiful photos, in any format, whenever. You are not alone in hoping for a better 2021. Oh, and please don't walk out in front of any buses! :-)
Sharon - your mosaic is top notch - each individual photo spectacular in its own right, and together a rainbow explosion. Congratulations on being a cancer survivor - I agree wholeheartedly with your "live now" attitude! Thanks for your loyal contribution to Mosaic Monday - we are all better for traveling virtually with you! Happy New Year!
Most of our travels have been virtual this year. It has given us the time to revisit those special places. I wish you a healthy and happy new year and may 2021 bring you everything that 2020 didn't.
Yup, virtual travel is still *the* way to go for us too and thank you for sharing your journies. Happy New Year!
Thank you, and a happy and healthy new year to you, too.
Right now all of my travel is vicarious. We have a travel ban in place. Thanks for sharing your photos so I can dream of the time we can hit the road again!
What a year indeed! Lets hope that 2021 brings a greater sense of normality.
Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
I didn't know that Margaret Mitchell died after Gone with the Wind was published! It's been such a tragic and heartbreaking year for so many. I wish you continued good health and a better 2021. Stay safe.
I'm glad you are in the blog world to share your world with us. Anybody that beats cancer is a hero to me :)
We never know when our time here is over so, enjoy it while you can.
A fantastic addition to 'My Corner of the World' this week! May the new year bring you great things to photograph!
Happy New Year!
May 2021 be much better to all of us. Happy New Year.
Uff da. No idea what it means, but I like the way it sounds. Beautiful collage, and I recall seeing most, if not all, of the photos during 2020. Happy New Year to you and all the best in 2021!
It's so important to find the good when we can. Thanks for sharing your year's highlights. - Margy
