Crooked Tree Village: Part 1

"If one cannot catch a bird of paradise, better take a wet hen." Nikita Khrushchev

We went on a birding safari in Crooked Tree Village during our time in Belize. The highlights were meandering, mangrove trails; a cornucopia of birds on every branch of crooked tree; peaceful waters with weathered boats abandoned on shore. I could have spent several days capturing the town's natural charm.

Beautiful photos! I especially love the ones of old buildings. If they could talk, I'll bet they'd have some stories to tell.

You could put together a bird book, though I especially like the butterfly and canoe shots.

A bird without wings, such a sad image. Your photos are beautiful. I especially like the straight look at the canoe. Lots of emotion to the photo.

Sharon - ah, Belize. A tropical paradise. That butterfly is sporting quite some camouflage!!! Thanks for sharing these special scenes with everyone at Mosaic Monday - looking forward to the next instalment!

I like the different photos you chose to take while meandering. The boardwalk, the boat, and the birds. Nice....

Looks like bird viewing paradise! Is it me, or does that viewing platform look a little unstable? Have a great weekend!
