Taking the High Road...

If you get too hot in Tucson, Arizona, just travel up the Catalina mountains, (I never get too hot) for refreshing, cool air. (I like thick air that feels like boiling syrup)

First, you enter a stand of Saguaro, then spiral into a mini, Hoo-Doo rock gallery, culminating in an Aspen-like pine forest. We drove up twice for panoramic views and rock tripping. Follow our wheels...

Dare-devil.

I wasn't able to get a good shot of the huge, black ravens of the Southwest.

Peek-a-boo shot.

So you see, no need to sizzle like bacon strips on your whole visit!

I know how hot it can get in Tuscon in the summer, but the mountains are always cooler. We visited Bisbee and Jerome once--charming towns!

I love the rocky landscapes in your photos. It's such a different kind of beauty from the green mountains in my part of the world. Looks like a lovely place to hike.

Did someone say bacon? Oops, I am so easily distracted!!! Love all your shots, but my favorite is the winding road. Especially since it has no cars on it! Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!

We wanted to go camp in the Catalina Mountains when we were in Tucson last month but we had to change our plans to arrange for RV storage. I'd like to go there next year to try something new. - Margy

Beautiful area. If I lived around there I'd probably be in the mountains often as I can't handle the heat :-)

Beautiful scenery and I remember about 15 years ago when my family and I used to rock climb. Seems like another life time ago.

Hello, beautiful views and sky shots. The rock formations are cool, I can see why the rock climbers would love climbing there. Enjoy your day!

We just loved that trip up the mountain” in Tucson where you go through all the climate zones. Awesome pictures of your adventure! You are the only person besides my husband whom I’ve heard describing what kind of air you like best!
