We enjoyed a birding extravaganza in the Everglades last winter. I knew we'd be knee deep in feathers, when the woman ahead of us gasped and pointed - it was the mother-load of white egrets!
We started the day before sunrise, on a balmy March morning. First, we stopped at McDonalds for breakfast. Then, we drove down old 41 towards Miami, stopping at Ten Thousand Islands.
The lighting was perfect.
They look like a painting...
A soft, roseate spoonbill.
A cute little killdeer.
A great blue heron in the sky.
A wood stork in flight.
Breakfast.
Reflections.
A perfect morning on tap.
A photographer's paradise.

Gorgeous shots of the egrets. They do look like a painting. These are some of my favorites of my many favorite pictures you take with that great artist's eye of yours! :-)
Wonderful birds! We had a great visit to that area earlier this season.
Beautiful images.
Your Everglades photos are breath-taking. The one with the turquoise background and yellow-green birds looks like a surrealist painting. Such amazing photography.
My post features a visit to Seattle's Volunteer Park Conservatory.
What stunning shots in perfect lighting. The reflections were particularly good.
Great images indeed and one looks really like a silk print on a japanese kimono I saw once.
Wow - fabulous shots.
It's exciting when a huge flock of birds arrive and let you take photos! Your images do look like paintings with the different lighting. That first egret shot is just marvelous and majestic :)
I am so glad you chose to join My Corner of the World this week!
