I took this rather surreal photo before stepping in the door after a winter photo safari. My photographic journey took me out onto my steps and onto the frigid sidewalk. Snap, snap. The end!
Of course I was being watched the whole time. I actually was thinking about the life of my spoiled brats compared with all the animals out there as the snow swirled and the winds howled last night. How do wild animals survive the winter? Meanwhile, mine were curled up in luxury.
Here are 5 random snow quotes for Random 5 Friday
1) “The snow began to fall again, drifting against the windows, politely begging entrance and then falling with
disappointment to the ground”
― Jamie McGuire, Beautiful Disaster
2) “A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.”
― Carl Reiner
3) “The snow was too light to stay, the ground too warm to keep it. And the strange spring snow fell only in that golden moment of dawn, the turning of the page between night and day.”
― Shannon Hale, Palace of Stone
4) “Whenever she turned her steep focus to me, I felt the warmth that flowers must feel when they bloom through the snow, under the first concentrated rays of the sun.”
― Janet Fitch, White Oleander
5) “Snow flurries began to fall and they swirled around people's legs like house cats. It was magical, this snow globe world.”
― Sarah Addison Allen, The Sugar Queen
Here's mine...
"Old man winter can go %$#@ himself!"

I have to admit...these days I would have to agree with Carl Reiner! I give you credit for venturing outside for even 2 photo snaps. I spend my time looking for indoor things to photograph.
They are all good, but I like yours best! We've got snow on the way tomorrow night. :-(
Great photo and quotes! We have spring like weather now but winter returns next week.
Oh that is a great photo. Love your quotes I really like the snow globe one I guess because most times I think I am living in one and someone keeps shaking the globe. I get dizzy but it is pretty:) Hug B
Love your "surreal" looking photo of kitty and snow.
Yes it's hard to imagine how wild animals survive harsh winters. I'm glad my animals are safe, warm and snug.
Great quotes. #2 is my favorite.
I like the Hale quote. I also read White Oleander a long time ago and thought it was good. I'm sure many people would agree with your special quote - I don't like to say to much about winter in case it hears me and sticks around until June! Love your pampered kitty watching you.
Love the Carl Reiner quote. My cats don't understand why I'm not opening the windows. I keep telling them to be patient, it will be warm soon.
enjoyable quotes. hope the snow disappears soon. ( :

super photo and quotes..all of the outdoor animals I have to believe they are built for the bad weather..I hope.
Except for the wild animals who are used to it, I often wonder how animals survive the winter as well, sadly, many do not
The quotes are good and I love the photo!
I often wonder how the wild birds survive the frigid temps. Great photo and quotes. :)
I like all your quotes. Carl has it right though...just so unnecessary! HA HA
what a great reflection.
