All in a day's work

I titled this post All in a Day's Work because we saw all these beauties on one hike at Rookery Bay Swamp in Florida.  It was a good day to not be at work.

I call these wood storks Grandpas.  He has been included in WBW before.  But he was part of the sights and sounds on this day.

Gators!

A hawk peeking out of a nest.  Look close.

This vulture is the real pick for Wild Bird Wednesday this week. They creep me out!

What great pictures! I especially like the juvenile Cooper's Hawk. Even they are cute when they're young. :-)

oh man what cool photos and sights to have seen first hand! I love Storks LOVE them-I have my favourite sites here where they've built their nests on tops of light poles, chimneys, or man made supports, nothing like in Alsace for they migrate back there while here they accommodate the couples who don't choose to make the flight.. your header makes me smile!

Aw, those vultures are OK as long as you remember to keep moving when they're circling above you ;>)!!!!.

I love Florida ... every day there seem to be new birds around, especially now that the migrating birds are coming in. Now, you shouldn't let the Vulture Creep you out ... they really are awesome birds ... not so beautiful up close, but look at that awesome wingspan. And were it not for him, you would be stumbling over carrion on your walks through the swamp. So give the poor boy a break :) All of your pictures were great ... enjoyed this post:)

A bad day taking pictures is better than a good day at work!

I agree that the vulture is a wee bit creepy - I think they need to do a bit of PR work!
