Snapshots of Savannah, Georgia

It's a tradition for us, ever since reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil: Martinis. Except, we drink ours in Forsyth Park instead of Bonaventure Cemetery. Forsyth is the perfect place to share a drink or picnic and people watch. Another Southern tradition: Waffle House takeout, served with local peaches and spiced, Georgia pecans from the farmer's market. YUM! Why don't we live in Savannah? Good question.

Gumbo and hushpuppies, history as good as it is bad, walk-abouts worth a million, oak trees dripping with moss, beguiling cemeteries and famous hauntings. Follow our feet...

This was our street.

Bonaventure Cemetery

A hawk hunting at Forsyth. He liked to land on the top of the famous fountain.

An alley cat behind our rental.

Two curious dogs on a walk-about.

The Sorrel-Weed house.

The brick pavers in front of the mansion were handmade by children, and the bricks have tiny fingerprints.

A wedding at Forsyth.

The architecture and furnishings are exquisite. The huge Alice-in-wonderland mirror over the fireplace seems like a window to another world. PS: I accidentally placed this comment in your earlier post.
