Flovember: Week 2

White Egret.

Week two:

I saw stingrays leap from the water like Javier Sotomayor, fat manatees skimming the estuary, dolphins surfing at dusk, bright green iguanas in the mangrove, and yes, even parrots at Culvers. After thirteen years traveling through Central America, if I hear a weird squawk at a Culvers restaurant that sounds like a parrot, it probably is. I went back simply for research purposes (: and they were there again, filling the butter-burger scented air with chipper chatter, with wings all aflutter. (you can always confirm a parrot sighting by their superfast wingbeats)

This is Florida, 2021. It sounds exotic, but it's just the beach. Follow my feet...

Sea Urchin fuzzy.
Sea Urchin naked.

Sleeping pelican.

New Osprey nest.

Capsized sailboat.

Next time I'm in Florida, I'm going to be more alert when on the beach, looking for exotic creatures. The sleeping pelican is great!

You had some successful shelling (I too collect them only in pictures now). We see a lot of boats that aren’t going anywhere ever again. They make interesting photos…. But happier are the ones doing what they are supposed to do, like the one with the dog and his people. Such a beautiful beach. Why don’t you stay for December too?
