Volcanoes loom behind the ruins of Casa Santo Domingo.
The ruins of Antigua, Guatemala are simply fascinating. One of the highlights was the hotel and museum, Casa Santo Domingo: crumbling relics, cavernous rooms, Mayan artifacts, architectural grandeur and glorious modern day art.
Visiting is like a stroll through old Pompeii. My favorite exhibit was the silver artifacts located in the dungeon - I mean basement - or do I mean dungeon?
I'll post more on the beautiful museums later...
The living at Casa Santo Domingo, enjoy luxurious hotel rooms, spa treatments, gourmet food and exotic birds.
Other people can't seem to rest in peace.
A stroll through the crypts. (the hotel is located inside the ruins of a pre-earthquake convent)
Happy Halloween!
