Cultivate

This is a happy little illustration I did a few years back. It was chosen to represent the MNSCBWI chapter for the Hope Card Project. A charity project to help school children hurt by the wildfires in Australia at the time. Today's http://www.illustrationfriday.com/ theme is cultivate. And these animals banding together to plant a tree definitely fills the bill.

Bedroom Buddies

Bedroom buddies is a fun illustration that I finished last week. Toliet buddies is still in the works! This illustration was inspired by life with my cats. Although I only have two. (It feels like at least five) Do you recognize Baby on the bed? She's the icon on my blog. And yes that's my bedroom. Hopefully that's not too much information! I also posted my fuzzy Hope card submission again. Look for it on the http://www.minnesotascbwi.org/ website. It's on the Hope card!

Hope card

The Australia SCBWI (Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators) asked each regional chapter here in the states to submitt a Hope card Illustration. To show our support to the many families there. I'm sure there will be many submissions and mine may or may not be chosen. I'll be sending it in today. I chose to paint some typical yet cuddly Australian animals. The Kangaroo is holding a young tree to symbolize new growth and of course rainbows always symbolize hope.
