Jerome sticks to Cleopatra hill like a fragile necklace.
We learned about the Jerome cemetery from a ghost. He was an old-timer narrating a historic video at the Copper Mining Museum. He looked like an actor, but who are we to judge? The ghost didn't divulge the cemetery location, but we found it anyway, isolated on the precipice of a scraggly, barren hill. It was spooky. It was lonely. It was hotter than a brothel in August, melting into the sand like a mirage.

fascinating place and a litle sad
hi! I'm a first time visitor. Loved the idea of a spooky trip to the past and the quotes.
How amazing to see these out in the middle of nowhere! Glad you took pics to share!
Not a place to visit when the sun goes down.
Oh wow, I love old cemeteries and that one looks classic.
As you may know I am a geocacher so I had to check to see if there is one in the cemetery and there is. It is called "Los días del muerto en Jerome" last found on October 20.
Great post. I love the old headstones and the iron fence.
I love visiting Jerome when we visit Arizona. I'll have to check out this cemetery the next time we go. Happy Halloween!
It does look hot. I never heard of this place, but fortunately I know a good artist who can show it to me. :-)
Wonderful post. Glad you found the cemetery. Jerome looks like a cool place. I really like Peter Pergola's crooked gravestone!
What a fun post right in time for Halloween! I really enjoyed it!
These old lonely cemeteries can be so interesting. This one has wonderful views! We found a lonely grave of a child once, all alone on a hill, so sad.
Stay safe and enjoy your week.
Great shots and interesting story about "Jerome cemetery from a ghost."
Thank you for sharing beautiful photos.
Learning from a ghost sounds so charming! A wonderful post; especially appealing to a tapophile like me.

Sharon - it makes me a little sad that these graves are now untended ... thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!!!
Amazing photos :)
What a great tour of the cemetery. I love old cemetery's this one has such a rich history! Thanks for sharing!
There should be some authority, religious or municipal, that takes care of old, isolated cemeteries. There are remains of people (bones, skulls, teeth )under the stones, and respect is required.
Hello,
This trip is perfect during Halloween, spooky.
I love the views, flowers, the bird and the shadow shot.
Take care, enjoy your week!
From Italy to the west! Wow. My grandmom was born in Romania but died in Hawaii.
My mother has always thought me odd because I enjoy walking around old cemeteries. My statement to her is simple, it's safe as the residents can't bother you. LOL

Thanks for sharing another of your travels.
I find old neglected cemeteries like this one forlorn but quite beautiful. You really captured the spirit of it. (No pun intended)
Interesting! I've never been to an old, neglected cemetery before. It must have a different air to it.
I used to live in Prescott in the late 70s, so I have visited Jerome several times. Interesting place the way it's built on the side of a mountain. Never been to the cemetery there though.
I love old abandoned cemeteries. Growing up in Nevada, we walked through many of them in our visits throughout the state. Reading the headstones, looking at the ornamentation of statues on the graves, or seeing nothing but a falling down iron fence; one could feel the love, despair, happiness, or sadness of the people who buried them there. I always thought children's graves the saddest. There were lots of them in the olden times. Very nice photos.
Well that has to be one of the most interesting cemeteries I've ever seen. My husband and I love to explore old cemeteries. Thanks for the party!
Been there! We lived in Arizona for a decade...
Live your Halloween atmosphere in this post & the bird is actually a ghost yelling us "nevermore".

Hello,
I am stopping back to say thank you for sharing your post. Great photos! Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend ahead.
You’ve put me right into “the spirit”. Happy Halloween to you too.
Love the pictures. Happy Halloween.
What an interesting find! I love places like this with their own sordid past.
It's great to see your link at 'My Corner of the World' this week !!
We just passed through Jerome in the spring. We didn't stop because of the pandemic. But it looked like a very interesting town. It reminded us of another mining town in AZ - Bisbee. Next time we will have to stop and check out the cemetery. Thanks for the tour!
Quite fascinating.
Happy November Wishes.
All the best Jan
