The best thing about Bryce Canyon is the seemingly endless amount of over-look stops on the road to the top. But, you do run out of gravel when you reach the precipice at around 9,000 feet. This post is the first look: a teaser of the vast hoodoos and spires, carved into a series of breath-taking, bowl shaped canyons. Follow our tracks to the top...
Stay tuned for more vistas from Bryce. This was the first over-look. There's plenty more Utah magic to come.
In the meantime, Merry Christmas!

Beautiful! I love the pretty spires in that one picture. Or are those hoodoos? Guess I need to look that word up. Merry Christmas to you! :-)

I love those vistas. Your photos are amazing. Your angles have me wondering how the spires were formed. Wikipedia here I come. Merry Cheers to you!

Beautiful Bryce Canyon! The first time we stayed there we came in after dark (we were much younger then) , parked our pickup camper in the indicated spot n a campground, woke up with those incredible red rocks right behind us, it was magical! Merry Christmas!
Sharon - I remember well our trip to Bryce Canyon. Our daughter was 2 and we carried her in a backpack carrier. A gorgeous place.
I woke up this morning to fresh snow - we will have a white Christmas after all!
