It's hard to capture the scale of Zion National Park, Utah. (in a photograph) First of all, we were roaming the grounds long before the sun slipped above the monoliths. It was cloudy too. On top of that, my i-phone was stolen after the trip, and I lost all my cell-photos. (no cloud) So, I guess you'll need to see it for yourself someday. Until then, follow my lens...
The rocks of Zion almost defy description: they resemble an other-worldly geology experiment, where an explosion spit skyscraper sized rocks into the heavens. Obviously, the rocks resettled in an irregular mass of color and texture. Good luck finding the matching pieces!
Stay tuned for more from Zion and Bryce!

The rugged beauty of the park is impressive - sorry about your phone!
Incredible beauty. I especially love the pretty little bird. And so sorry to hear your iPhone was stolen!
Hello,
Zion is one of my favorite parks. Your photos are beautiful. Sorry, your phone was stolen, can you have it locked? Enjoy your day, wishing you a great week ahead.
I went to Bryce and Zion on a camping trip between jobs many years ago. My challenge was coming down the steep road you take coming from Bryce. I have a fear of heights and I made more than a few drivers behind me unhappy with my slow pace. What I could look at (I kept my eyes mostly down on the road) was beautiful. - Margy
Beautiful scenery.
sorry to hear about your stolen phone, but your photos are amazing of a part of the world I will probably never get to see, so thanks for the share. Happy travels and don't forget to back up your images! :) I am visiting you today from Our World Tuesday.
Zion is amazing, too big to capture. What an incredible natural wonder. What month did you travel?
Worth a Thousand Words
We’ve always wanted to go to Zion. Maybe one day!! Your photos are beautiful.
Sharon - so sorry to hear that your phone was stolen - I would be devastated to lose my photos. When I am on an extended trip, I try to transfer/copy all of my photos onto the hard drive of my computer every day, just in case! Your photos are stunning, just like Zion itself. I especially like the fifth picture with the fence. Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday!
We were just in Zion in September and I’m doing a travel series about it now. Gorgeous place! Gorgeous photos!
I hate to hear about your phone too! That's a hard thing to have taken! I love this area and I've been many times but you see different things every time you go! Enjoy your week!
I've always heard that this is a wonderful part of the world and your photos prove it! Sorry about your phone, but these images will do just fine! It's so great to see all the critters, too.
Your post on 'My Corner of the World' is much appreciated!
My Corner of the World
A sense of awe has taken over me at the sight of those monoliths.
Zion is my favorite of all the NPs in that amazing part of this country. We loved being there.
Great shots! Sorry to hear about your phone.
Gorgeous rock formations. I like your creative description of how they were formed! Bummer about your phone. I hope you were able to get it back (or at least most of the contents). Seems like we can't survive without smart phones anymore.
Incredible beauty of nature..!

I'd love to see this park and Bryce Canyon one day! Your photos are beautiful!
I'm so sorry to hear that your phone was stolen. My Samsung phone auto uploads my photos to a cloud-it is extra work deleting all the bad photos and mistakes, but in cases like this I'm glad my phone does that.
