The Key to Happiness

Day 1

Day 2

Day 3

(carefully, possibly, saving a drowning bat)

Day 4

(parking lot cat)

Day 5

The month of November used to be dreary and cold. Not anymore. (Not for me anyway) Now, I spend Turkey month on Lover's Key. The top photo, taken from the plane, shows my rental in the lower right corner - my home-away-from-home for the last three years.

My real home...

This is my view in Minnesota. At best, you'll see a predictable, old-school street in Minneapolis. At worst, well, you get the drift - literally.

Now, my month of writing and illustrating, will have plenty of inspiration: beautiful skies hovering over beautiful beaches, flora and fauna and all of God's creatures.

Turns out, I like November. Stay tuned...

Where's your happy place?

P.S. I have book news.

I actually received mail last week - books from Mrs. Jones! It's the children's book I illustrated for author Kristi Soli. Let the tea party begin.

You're down by Ft Meyers. I haven't been to Lover's Key but your photo looks great. I'm north on the west coast of Florida in Pasco County above Tampa. Enjoy your month!

Florida is the best in the late fall, and you are showing me why. What is in that second picture? I tired to figure it out but couldn't. :-)

Congrats on the book publication!! And on being at Lover's Key for dreary November! Keep SW Florida happy for us until we get there next month! No travel adventures for my blog this week, unless i would count moving across town -- and even I couldn't stretch things that far. I'll be back.

So, I begin with...I'm jealous. lol Warmth for the winter months would be great as I've aged. I like the beginning snow, but when winter sets in to stay a bit, not so fond of it. Enjoy. Your photos are lovely. Hope the bat survived. :)

My in-laws used to live in Bonita Springs and we would rent a pontoon and visit Lovers Key. Such a beautiful beach. I miss visiting there - I'm going to have to visit again soon.

I try to be happy wherever I am, but I got my first snow of the winter today and a warm place sounds great. Day 2 crab intrigues me.

I got my Master's degree at the University of Minnesota - I love the twin cities and the nature that the state has to offer. I don't mind the winter, I actually embrace it! So, here in Montana, I am in my happy place! Hope you are enjoying your time in your happy place!
