Late Spring Splendor

Wood Lake

Summer is here. The long lazy days under the sun are spread out like a lush wedding banquet. The air hangs heavy, raspberries are erupting with tart flesh and nests are becoming increasingly empty. So, I better publish my spring post stragglers! I love this heron shot with a goose photo bomb.

A late day tale of two families.

Lovely and transporting captures. What is that striped beaver like rodent? One of natures gingers. I love that a few families have gotten together for a walk or exodus.

I don't think I've ever seen the 'weird chicken' species before today! [lol]

And, honestly, I've never EVER seen a Bufflehead out of water. That's a new one ...if ever I see them, they're always at a far distance, and most times, dipping with tail up in the air, feeding on the river/lake bottoms, catching the 'catch of the day'. Exceptional image.

In fact, all your photos today are fabulous Sharon.

Thank you so much for adding your post link! We birders at I'd Rather B Birdin' always appreciate you participating!!

Beautiful photos from Wood lake! Your second one is too cute! Love the close-ups from the muskrat, the deer, and the tree frog (almost missed the last one:) ) Many thanks for sharing your adventure with SEASONS, and hope to "see" you back next week with one of your beautiful captures. But first, a Happy Independence Day to you!
