I see sea shells...

I thought I'd elaborate on my Sanibel island post and highlight 5 random shell objects from around my house.  For Random 5 Friday of course.

1) My sea shell lamp (in the back) is chock full of memories from childhood.  My parents would take me out of school in January.  This in itself was like a dream. To miss school.  But the icing on the cake was we would pack up the R.V. and head South.  The destination was Fort Myers, Florida.  And we filled two lamps with shells picked over many sun filled mornings on the beach.  Mine is in the attic.  Not used at the moment.  But still loved.  And this one belonged to my parents. I always thought discovering them was like finding buried treasure.

2) My sea shell coaster.

3) This is my random shell bin.  I don't pick up many shells anymore.  But a few random ones always ride home in my suitcase just the same.  And end up here.

4) My shell nightlight.

5) My shell object.  No use.  But in another life they were somebody's house.  I never take home any live shells.  I only enjoy the beauty of a starter home.

Wonderful collection! I don't go to the seashore often, but I always enjoying looking for shells and seeing their details. I have some in a dish--a random collection. :-)

I like the idea of using a shell to shield a night light. And that lamp.. clearly you got your creativity from your mom. :)

I like shelling! We don't live on the beach, but we're pretty darn close here at the Canal Cottage. I have to restrain myself somewhat in collecting because it is a very small house! Thanks for sharing your treasures.

Love! I've just been transported to the beach. It's getting dark here in Oregon and has been raining off/on all day. I want to go to Florida!!
