Hummer

Let's face it.  It is hard to get hummingbird shots that do not involve red syrup and plastic flower pods.  So the feederless ones that have a tropical background are cherished by me.  This one is taken near a feeder at a Butterfly sanctuary in Belize.  In Central America Hummingbird feeders are like rush hour in America.  The birds zoom and whirl around your head like little helicopters.  It really is an amazing experience.  But even with all those birds it is still hard to snap one on a branch.  They go a mile a minute.  I wish I knew what kind this red beaked one is.  If anyone can enlighten me please do.

All I can say is that its a very nice bird.

So, when are you visiting Australia to hear the Magpies?

Great photo of the Hummingbird, unfortunately I do not have a name.
Here in the Netherlands they are not.

That's a spectacular bird! You got a great shot. I don't know the name, either, except it's beautiful. :-)

That;s a great shot- It is hard to catch them away from the feeders.

Amazing! I'd settle for one with a red feeder...to see them like you have done is a miracle!

Lovely! I love this. I have never gotten a photo of a hummingbird at all. But then again I live in the city and don't even see them.

Must be an amazing experience to be in a crowd of humming hummers. I feel as you do and like photos of birds in natural settings instead of feeders,
This is a particularly handsome little bird.
Apparently there are 26 different hummingbirds in Belize and although I four yours on the web, there was no name attached.

it is hard to tell what ID this bird has. You really need another shot to be sure.
