The Loser Files...

I have an uninterrupted losing streak over at Joan's blog  She has a monthly photo contest.  But at least my photos are winners to me!  Because they are my photo memories.  Especially my cat Akua.  He's my baby after all.  The theme was cats and dogs.

A leaf for a Fall theme.

Cows grazing for a food theme.  They are food (gulp) plus they are eating.  Poor cows.

White flowers for a White theme.
A Green parrot for a Green theme.

A snowman for a Christmas theme.

This is one of my favorite travel photos.  We are sitting at the top of a Mayan ruin at Tikal in Guatamala. Do you see the other pyramids peeking over the jungle in the background?  Seeing Tikal was an amazing experience.  Calgon take me away right now!  I wish I was on a new adventure as we speak. Oh, and this was for a shoes theme!

A weathered and worn mailbox for a mailbox theme.  There were only 3 entries so I thought I might have a chance.  But no winner was selected!  My bad.

Beautiful Spring trees for a tree theme.  Loser.

But you might be a winner.  Have you read my toemail post below?  O.K.  I know these blog awards are kind of silly.  But I played along and forwarded the good, the bad and the lovely.  Are you feeling lovely...Punk?

These are all great photos Sharon. I still can't figure out why your bridge photo didn't win, that one took my breath away (see, I still remember it). It's all in the judges hands. Keep trying. I haven't sent her one in a long time but will probably get back into it after summer's over.

I can usually pick the one that will win when I see them. I won for the birds photo but am coming up short. What's the theme for this month? I can't even remember! You deserved to win the mailbox theme!

I liked the mailbox theme. I sometimes see Sharon Creech who does dozens of children's books. Do you know her? Your profile, "Paw Facts" mirrors mine up to a point. I attended shows, went to fairs and festivals, set up and sold paintings to people all over the world. I never got into book illustration but did some magazine illustration. You certainly have done your maker proud. I got stuck somewhere after by bouts with collapsed lungs and starving brain for oxygen. Not dead serious but kind of mini strokes that caused me to have to learn how to form letters when writing. I used to be a master scribe in italic calligraphy and decorated many medieval manuscripts. I have drawers full of pens, brushes, paints, pencils and seldom have the courage to pick them up. Hang in there Sharon. I don't really know how I got here but I remember you and am glad I was able to find you again. I got all fuzzy just reading your Paw Facts.

Well, I think these are all winners -- love the mailbox and trees. :)

Beautiful photos! You were robbed, especially for the mailbox theme. I'll have to go look at that site to see who actually won if these are the losers. Keep shooting! I love your photos.

Lovely photos. We can never compare ourselves to others. We are our own unique selves and what we see are vastly different from what other people see. Keep on shooting and you will win every time by capturing your heart. And, if happen to win, that is only a plus because you already know you're a winner. :-)

Visiting from Your Sunday Best -- "The Loser Files" -- I love it. Is that your parrot? I'm a former bird mom myself --

Whoa -- I just read your profile, and I grew up in Edina! Did we know each other? :)

Great post and they are all winners to me! Love your sense of humor!

Personal preference, that's all. And who wouldn't LOVE Akua on the blender - that is definitely a winner! I for one appreciate the sense of humour that comes out in your photos! And you're right about them being photo memories - I don't know how many crappy photos I've got in my files but don't have the heart to throw out... ;)

I would like to go back to Guatamala. I never made it as far north as Tikal. I did get to ride a couple Chicken Buses though. They are not made for people from the U.S.. They are a little short on leg room which is an issue when you are on them for long. In the mountains they are scarier than any amusement park ride however. Apparently as long as you are blowing the horn it is ok to pass around a blind corner with a shear drop off at high rates speed. They have a lot of faith I guess.
