After Hours...

The first thing that popped into my head when thinking of a name for this post was the movie After Hours.  Are you a fan of weird?  Well, then this movie is for you.  A bizarre night of surreal events unfolds for the poor sap of a leading man.  I always thought this movie was by David Lynch.  But it was actually directed by Martin Scorsese.  Who knew?

We were taking our trail cam to the woods for another Summer of Mystery Deer Theatre.  So before that happened we set it up to record the cat's hijinks for a night or two.  Nothing weird happened at all.  But I always wonder if we will record something paranormal.  Gulp.  It turned out to be just another couple nights of sad stares and cat calls.  "Please get up." Whined Hana and Akua over and over.

These aren't movies.  So just take a look see at all the pathetic captures...

Akua takes a little punch at the same ball that sits there every night.  But you never know when it could turn all monster on him.

Fight!

Hmmmm. Which pair of legs doesn't belong?  This was as weird as it got.  Oh well.  These may not be paranormal but everything looks a little spooky with night vision.

I LOVE how they stretch and paw at the door! Maybe you should leave some of those plastic cocktail swords for them to use the next time they "fight."

Oh my gosh, how can you say nothing weird happened? Just because your camera did not catch whatever ghostly presence your cat had a meeting with, does not mean it wasn't there! My take on these pictures is that some ghosty thing was standing in front of that door giving your cat mischievous instructions, and that's why the cat was staring up at it. The other cat didn't see the ghost, and teased the first cat, and that's what started the fight.

Or, maybe nothing happened. ;D

Nocturnal dancing? :)

Typical! When you want a cat to pose, they won't. And when you don't want them in view, they are there, front and centre!

I have night cam envy. Cute kitties! Love your tree frog. It has such gorgeous colors and expression.

Looks like a closet door, maybe they think there is a skeleton hidden behind, altough they are no dogs ?

I loved that movie!! You know we are a big fan of the night cam over at Zee & Zoey's, yet even with the video we did of them, I still don't think we got a true taste of what cats do at night.

Or cats frequently stare at what appears to be nothing, yet they do it with such intensity, that we often feel they are communicating with spirits of some sort...

I have no doubt at all that cats can see a parallel dimension, that we have no clue about. I don't know how else to explain their behavior!

It's only now you've mentioned that film that I remember seeing it years ago!

I loved your 'stills', it looks quite action packed for the kitties - that 'fight' especially :O)

Thought you might like this video of a naughty cat

I keep saying I'm going to do this with my cats but I haven't got around to it yet. After seeing your captures maybe I'll set it up this weekend.
