More Mushroom Magic

At the beginning of our hike on the Red Rock Trail in the Black River State Forest I was snapping pictures like crazy. But towards the end of the hike I'd say, "There's a cool one" And I'd just keep walking. Total mushroom burnout. And why is it that with all the walking I do with my husband I can never graduate to a "difficult" trail. I'll be stuck in "intermediate" land forever I guess. But it was still a scenic hike. Especially if you enjoy trees and mushrooms. There were no panoramic vistas or cool rock formations. Which is a trademark of the Black River area. The coolest thing was the fact that throughout the whole hike grasshoppers were popping like popcorn all around us. I think I've solved the Question of whether a bowl of grasshoppers will make a snap, crackle and pop when the milk hits it. The answer is yes!

How could you take those pictures AND have mushroom burnout? Some of these, especially the middle ones, look scarily poisonous. Did you find out what they are??

The first one almost looks as though something has been nibbling it. These are all very interesting. Maybe I need to find some green woods or wait until we get more rain. Very nice photos and the little fairy is adorable.

Sharon you are obviously attracted to mushroom and we also love it. I mean it's some kind of different from the flowers, trees, seas that I usually see in most blogs now it's mushrooms for you! I love all the photos but the one I like best is the fifth photo or the illustration of an elf? or a fairy? on mushrooms. I remember I left a comment about the dwarf under the mushroom. I like that one.

Hi Sharon! I'm amazed at how many varieties of mushrooms you found!
Hmmm... I'm not sure what the mushroom fairy is up to. Of course she has to be on the polka-dotted one. Will she perform some magic?
(btw, I like the slats of light pouring in from the trees.) xx

How gorgeous. You have such an eye for taking those awsome pics. And your camera does a mighty fine job.
I thought I saw a little door opening very quietly on one of the mushrooms. And someone is peeking out the windows. Did you watch the little gnomes scurry to and fro?
