Today's http://www.illustrationfriday.com/ theme is swarm. I think you'll have to use your imagination on this one! Imagine the friendly looking bee flying off and swarming with his pals. BBBZZZZZ!
I did this illustration around 3 years ago. It depicted a scene from my story, "The Tale of the Magic Cat Whiskers" I really shouldn't let my idea of magic cat whiskers go to waste. I still love that idea. But the illustration...not so much. I've really grown as an illustrator since I did this piece. But one thing I do love about this illo is the glowing green color of the flowers. Speaking of flowers...
This is my magic orchid. It was in full bloom last May. I always call it my magic orchid because it has been blooming without fail for many years now.

Have a nice weekend.din
Both the illustration and the photos are beautiful!
You must have a magic touch with that orchid for it to continue to bloom all the time. I never heard of that before. And I love your early illustration! The green flowers and little pixie are adorable.
Beautiful illustration and great pixs, too!
Your illustrations always seem playful and interesting to me. I suppose your do all sorts of things beyond what I have seen on your blog.
I asked Norman Rockwell once if he thought I should go the ways of Pollock or stick with realism and he said stick with realism. I liked everything he did and my photography is something like he did in his Post illustrations. Focus on the center of attention and I try to do that. He had that wonderful circle to work with and I never could do it like he did.
Sharon,
Your work is soooo fun and the colors wonderful! Such spirit. I have to say I'm always looking for examples of fun dog art to inspire me to get out of my own head and loosen up and yours came up on a google search then I recognized the dog when I visited your blog... Thank you! I'm so glad you left a message on my blog—I don't always have time to explore IF's artists, but I love visiting those who stop by mine, so thank you, brought me here again.
Hello!
Well done!Beautiful photos!
Most Beautiful!!! Hope my orchid lives to reach such a beautiful age...it's almost in the stage of blooming again.
