“Is Miami America? Is it a state? Is it the South? … I love Miami for the same reason I love the places I love most around the world… it’s the mix here, this big, messy, dysfunctional hell-broth of people from all over the world that make it so awesome and make it a place I want to keep coming back to. Also the food’s good.” – Anthony Bourdain
Amen.
I miss Anthony Bourdain.
I couldn't resist capturing our miniature photo inside a classic car fender on Ocean Drive. If you look closely, you'll notice I'm bundled up. We were out and about early after a cold front arrived back in March. Now, I know something even more sinister had already moved into South Beach - Covid.
Luckily, my photo safari was relatively carefree. Footloose and fancy-free even. And fun! Follow my feet...
“Miami is one of these places where diversity is in our blood, where, you know, if you want to go have a Nicaraguan breakfast, a Cuban lunch, and an American diner dinner, you do.” –Ana Navarro

Miami is a beautiful and eclectic city, full of great people and food. I worry about Florida's growing COVID rates, however. I hope they can get it under control as there are so many vulnerable elderly there.
I would not have known that was you unless you told me. I love all your pictures and I always enjoying following your feet. :-)
Probably best to visit Florida virtually right now. Thanks for the tour. I love hummingbirds. Back home I have two large feeders that hand on the rails of our bridge to shore at the float cabin. We have been self isolating here in our Washington State condo since the first of March and I've missed them. I just found a hummingbird feeder that uses suction cups to cling to a window. I have it on the glass enclosure around our condo balcony. I put it up two days ago and yesterday a hummingbird already found it way up here on the third floor. Yea!!
Hello, I have ridden past Miami and never stopped. I am not much of a city person. The parakeets are pretty. I am sure Miami population is high, I hope everyone is taking their safety precautions. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy new week!
Great photos. I've only ever travelled through Miami. Maybe one day I'll get a chance to spend a few days there.
beautiful objects...
love butterflies and birds
I used to live in Miami - it's a special place
thank you for the look at Miami. I enjoyed your post. Multicultural cities are so interesting to visit. Happy travels, stay safe, and have a good week, and thank you again for the link up.
Fun walk. Thanks. Like the beach hut...is that for lifeguards, etc.? Saw a show where years ago that would be the changing house, and they were actually in the water for ladies as they were very modest back in the day.
I must admit, that I came here from Betty-NZ's attracted by the great picture of the ship, but butterflies are also beautiful :)
'Colony' hotel looks like a nice, comfy hotel!
Multicultural cities like Miami, are great fun to visit, not sure about permanent living there.
Excellent photos, as usual!
Looks like a lot of fun - and not what I think of when I think Miami....
Thanks for the tour of Miami. I went for a quick trip last year and now can't wait to get back to explore more of it especially after seeing your pics!
I love all your shots. I'm saying "Ooh, this is favorite." Then I scroll down and change my mind. After a while I stopped. :-) The photo of the butterfly couple, amazing.
Such a great variety of scenery on your trip. You captured a little of everything, my kind of photos :)
I'm glad you are a part of 'My Corner of the World' this week! Thanks for linking up.
I enjoyed this walk through Florida’s “THE City”... that last quote says perfectly how we felt on our getaway to Miami ... we stayed in a B&B in a diverse Area and enjoyed almost every meal from a different country.
I've never been there but you got some really great pictures. I love the animals.
I specially like the container ship picture.
Sharon - with each new picture, I kept saying "ooh". "aah." "ooh" again. The art deco hotel sign is a standout, and I also think you are the only person that could make a container ship a piece of art! The lizard picture is also very special. Thanks for this terrific collection for Mosaic Monday!
Great photos and the cargo ship, it just amazes me that it can hold so much weight, be made of steel and float.
Sorry I'm late commenting this week, it's been hectic.
I'm number 8 on the Mosaic Monday link up.

That's a fun opening shot! I really like the shot of the cargo ship. Amazing how they can stack the containers so high, and surprising that none fall off!
haven't been to Florida but would love to.
That's a different kind of butterfly photo. I'm glad you had a good time though I think I'll avoid FL until they get the virus under control.
Awesome pics!
