Highlights of Florida Trails. Part One.

The Glades.

Florida is a great place to take a nature walk. (unless you're scared of alligators) When I'm there, I always go to Rookery Swamp, the remote Crew Trails and of course, beautiful Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. I'm happy to own a yearly pass! That's a lot of wildlife - I just wished I actually lived there. After all, I can prove I belong there by the real color of my hair. (in between dye jobs)

Here are some highlights from my 2017 camera role...

A hawk at Rookery Swamp.

Tiny bathing beauties.

Florida wildflowers

Hunters.

A fluffy white egret on a carpet salad. Or a lettuce lake.

A pretty purple Gallinule. My first very sighting! I saw a lot of these in Guatemala this year.

Smothered and Covered at the Waffle House...I mean Corkscrew.

Turtle soup.

An odd Roseate Spoonbill. It wasn't that long ago that I had never seen one!

Colorful Crew Trails

Bright berries hanging in a blue sky.

Bald heads.

Red heads.

Holes.

Great photos of the Florida wildlife but my favourite has to be the spoonbill.

This is such an interesting place! I would be a bit afraid about the alligator but I think I can handle my fear. My husband is the one who would love this place.

Hello!:) Wonderful collection of wildlife photos taken in the Glades. It's just teaming with wildlife of every description, and a joy to see. The Roseate Spoonbill, and Gallinule, are colourful sights.

You sure found lots to photograph. All are wonderful, but I'm partial to the spoonbill and the egret. Happy Wednesday!

Love love love it all. And come on down, pretty hair and all ...In our ‘resort’ the boomers who are never going to get old are beginning to outnumber us elderly Qtips. (I used to be a young retiree ...but that was a few years ago).

I saw my first Roseate Spoonbill a few years back at J.N. Ding Darling Sanctuary on Sanibel. I've never been much of a bird watcher but wow, it was so cool! Love your photos!

Nice! I especially like the baby alligators. I don't know why people would be afraid of them?

I can't tell you how happy your post makes me feel. I was feeling a little stressed but after seeing all of the Glades wildlife, up close and personal I feel so much better! Love the alligator wearing weeds.
