Flying Rats

A lowly mother pigeon.

Who me? A rat? Some kids get no respect.

We wandered the streets of Casco Viejo in Panama City last January. Casco Viejo was a photographic wonderland of crumbling structures. And these pigeons took advantage of a whopper of a hole. My husband calls them rats with wings. Not me. I love all birds.

And cats...

Facebook took a survey about cats and dogs. The furry results are revealed, and debated, over at The Chorus of the Crows this week.

They look cozy at any rate and MUCH cuter than rats! Although the right rat can be cute of course.

I have also heard the term flying rats, but I'm with you - I love nearly all creatures. Well, not roaches. LOL But definitely I love birds.

Poor pigeons - they get a bad rap!

I am not a huge fan of pigeons, but I like them well enough to enjoy these pictures. :-)

Those pigeons have found a perfect nesting place, and these are great photos.

That's the first time I've heard Pigeons referred to as Rats with Wings. I must remember that. Great shots of them in their rocky home

Hello!:) Oh, lovely photos of the Pigeons, which get a bad rap, and they are great looking birds. In your fourth image the pigeon looks more like an eagle!:))

I'm a birder, but gotta' admit I come down on your husband's side on this one. although maybe the ones in Panama are cleaner than our city ones here.

Yes, they are known as flying rats here too but I think they make for nice critter photos!

Of course, I am partial to cats...love 'em.

And your 'rats'....errrr, um, piegons, are sweet!! They always seem to get a bad rap!

I will thank you again for participating in our birdin' experiences at I'd Rather B Birdin'.

Pigeons get a bad rap, but some are nice.

It's the system that gets 'em into trouble!

I love pigeons....but on the other hand, I also love rats! They are such intelligent little creatures and I've had them as pets in the past. Pigeons have such wonderful variety in their feather colours, and such a beautiful iridescence in the right light. Great photographs!

That may be a little harsh I think - although I do know what you mean.

I took some very similar pictures when I was in Glasgow.
