Cattle Wrangling in Panama

Another blast from the past...

I stepped from the shower at the exact moment I heard my husband desperately beckoning me to our balcony at Casa Caracol, Panama. What could be happening? A Tsunami, perhaps? Quickly, I slithered into my bottoms and thinking we were alone, cupped my boobs and ran outside. A cleaning lady stood next door, photographing the mysterious spectacle too. Giggling, I ran inside to add some cloth to my upper regions, returning to the balcony amidst a cartoon cloud of smoke.

Something extraordinary was happening, alright…cows. We've been on back roads in Central America during a cattle drive many times. Once, an errant cow almost sideswiped our driver's side mirror. But seeing cattle wrangling on the beach is priceless.

 Only in Central America…

Cows on the beach are a familiar sight in several places of the world: India, Sardinia, South Africa, Scotland.
They gather on the beach looking for sun and fun.

Great shots!

That is COOL! I just moved to the country last year and have grown to really appreciate (& befriend) cows! Sweet creatures they are!

Great post Sharon! What a great sight to see in person. Definitely not something you see everyday. I guess you have to be aware of cow patties in the sand after that.

That is something I would never have thought would happen. (Though being from the West US we've been stuck behind or in the middle of cattle drives several times in our travels... but certainly never on a beach.) That would be bit disconcerting if you happened to be walking or lounging on the beach at that time. Really interesting!

Wow! Fascinating to see a 'cattle drive'on a beach ~ Here they won't even let dogs on the beach in summer and some places in all year ~ Great photography!

Wishing you a lovely week ~ ^_^

How odd, but nice isn't it? Saw horses and cows on the beach in Bangladesh too.

Wow! That is pretty darn unusual, I'd say. Glad you captured it so you could share it with me. Some of those cows look a little skinny, don't they? :-)

Hahaha, that is really spectacular. Maybe the beach is the widest space to maneuvre the herd, and of course less traffic too. I agree, maybe that is only in South America.
