I love this photo. The sun is crawling up the Mountain side, the sky is frosted with a blush of colors and the silhouettes add some interesting magic as well.
Sunrise in Costa Rica is a soul replenishing experience.
But the beauty of sunrise in Dominical is not just visual. If you were watching this awakening glow in person you'd feel the caress of the moist morning air and hear a chorus of birds among the rustle of jungle leaves.
Hmmm.. The human sense of hearing is so questionable. It can be so pleasurable sometimes. I enjoy the ruffle of wings as a bird nestles in a near by tree. The rumbling, earthy growl of the howler monkey greeting the day. The song of the birds is the only alarm clock I'll ever need on vacation.
The visual beauty of this Casa is undeniable. In fact, this breath taking vista might be the best we've ever experienced. So why did we leave disgruntled and a week early? I think the title of this post says it all. It was my well earned nickname for this lovely rental.
But I will say this, we kept coming back up the mountain anyway. Casa Construction was a hop, skip and a frog jump from Jolly Rodgers Pirate Bar. You couldn't keep us away from the best burgers in Dominical! And good pizza too. Plus, big strong drinks to keep you jolly. Except through construction noise at 6 am.
My meager mystery bird photo this week. I hope I've earned a simple silhouette!
At sunset the construction ended. I aimed my camera towards the setting sun and breathed a sigh of relief.
But at 6:00 am the workers staying on the lot next door expelled a big yawn, stretched, stepped out of their shack and climbed into a bulldozer! And the construction was happening all over the hillside. So motorcycles and trucks full of gravel were lined up like a parade at dawn The explosion of sound fell in the negative sound spectrum. In other words. It sucked!
Sunset didn't suck.
Sunset soothed.
Sunset glowed.
Sunset amazed.

Hello Sharon, sounds like a wonderful place for your vacation. The sunset shots are stunning. Love the birdie silhouette. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Now I really know people aren't reading my blog! "Sounds" like a wonderful place... Ha!
Beautiful place. Love the sunsets!
These are some of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen. I mean it! And then to hear why you had to leave it... I can bet you'll be back and hopefully they won't be constructing when you do. :-)
Awesome skies!

absolutely BREATHTAKING!
Truly art work of nature. And love your words at the beginning...frosted sky and a blush of color.
Thanks for sharing this link with all the bird enthusiasts at I'd Rather B Birdin'
Beautiful sky colors and I would love waking up to bird sounds but the construction sounds would drive me crazy! I think that is what is called "progress" - which I think is most unfortunate!
Your photography is fabulous as is the emerging of another day wakens. Thhis is quite a poetic post as awesome images. I do hope, when I get to Costs Rica I also will see these spendid sunrises.
Well at least there were some plus points. Super images Sharon.
Paradise! Just magical photos! And to know it's close to great burgers and pizza...what more can a person ask for!? :-)
Wow - those sunsets are just amazing!
Sharon your sunsets are magnificent!
Wow! The sunset images are fantastic, I especially like the one with the sun low on the horizon. Cool frogs too.
Sharon, that is really a fantastic place, stunning beauty from dawn to dusk and all that fun in between. Wonderful getaway.
Some really stunning shots.
Beautiful pretty much says it all
Absolutely stunning sky pictures, the last one in particular is amazing

beautiful images!
Absolutely gorgeous captures!!! Thank you so much for sharing. I love your photographic talents!
There is a beauty in every sunset, no matter the weather or location. The colors you captured are just marvelous!
It is beautiful. Too bad for the construction but I fear it's going to just keep happening...building on top of buildings in those areas. I feel bad for the birds displaced from all that habitat loss!
What a remarkable looking place. The problem with blogging is that my 'must visit' list seems to grow longer each week!!
I do like the bird shot - and always hoped that people would include more that just 'bird ID' shots for WBW - and this is one of them!
