Well, of course cat fur. It is such a good insulator. I guess the smell of cat isn't too awful if it keeps the babies warm and doesn't actually harm them. :-)

cat fur. how funny! here they like to use horse hair a lot. i leave the dog undercoat out on the yard to see if they will use it - usually not. :)
i agree - i wonder about the smell of cat? wonder what the bird thinks? interesting looking bird nest. well made from a human side. ha. ha!! ( :
