This is my something old for the August Break. A wise old owl. I think it is actually just a youngster. But you know the timeless saying. I chose this so I could also hook up with Wild Bird Wednesday I took this photo 2 summers ago. But it was taken in the same spot as my young fluff ball owls I posted for WBW earlier this summer. The owls nest by lake Harriet every year. Everyone loves to see them. And if you are lucky you'll hear them as well.
Tomorrow the theme is Midday.

I'm a big fan of Barred Owls and you are so lucky to have them living where you can see and especially hear them. Their conversations are just wonderful.
I also took the opportunity to peruse your illustrations. I am so impressedd ... you are very talented. I admire your talent and that you are using it in a positive way. I enjoyed this visit ...

Fantastic photo! Those eyes are amazing. Owls are one of my favorites.
Great find!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
What a gorgeous creature and photo, how lucky to see and hear them-if we visit the countryside we occasionally get glimpses and wee hoots at night.
Nice capture!
Beautiful critter and a fine photo.
Great photo of the owl and how lovely to think that they come back every year.
Great to have them every year.
Awesome shot of the owl!
Look at those eyes! I hope I never get scrutinized by an owl like that, Sharon. :-)
