I was inspired to take a new dandelion shot (top) after visiting The Smitten Image a few weeks ago. Hillary had a beautiful close up. It is actually pretty amazing just how beautiful our pesty and determined lawn weeds can be. I even caught some blooming crab apple trees in the background.
But the bottom photo is my favorite dandelion stage. The puffy part. The seeds were also planted in my, "Great Expectations" illustration below.

This illustration is so detailed it is hard to see it all at this size. But the dandelion seeds are floating all around the scene. I wonder if this marriage will be as firmly planted, steadfast and prolific as the dandelion. The answer is in the wind...

The puffy part is my favorite, too. I remember that painting, and I still love it a lot! I looked at it in full size to appreciate its beauty the best. :-)
We love the puffy part too. Purrs!
They're so pretty!
I like the puffy, too. I love the perspective you used to shoot the yellow blooms--beautiful! And your painting is lovely. I enlarged it to see the seeds, too.
Though I'm tempted to like them through your photos, I must admit that every spring I am busy eliminating them from my garden. My grandchildren like the illustration.
I enlarged your illustration and you are right. There are so many details. It must have taken a long time to work all that in.
The two photos are also very good!
You are multi-talented!
Beautiful photos that served as your inspiration...what a lovely illustration that is. (I think dandelions are beautiful, but I don't have a lawn!)
Dandelions are beautiful. My husband begs to differ. :)
Love your illustration so beautiful and I totally adore dandelions, your photos are very pretty.
