Fluff Balls

We spotted baby Barred Owls this week.  And the parents weren't far away. They were questioning us with their favorite, "Who cooks for you?" phrase.  We actually photographed them as well but I have better photos in my bird files already.  We really had to zoom in on these guys.  They were high up in a tree.  And after awhile they just laid their fluffy bodies down on the branch.  Watching us was exhausting I guess.  Zzzzzz.....

Oh my gosh, so cute! I think it's very cool to see them in real life. Maybe it's more common in certain parts of the country but I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen live, wild owls. :)

Brilliant photo... they're just snoozing on a branch, it's too cute :) And I hadn't heard the 'Who cooks for you' description of their call before - that works so well :D

What a great find. What is it about owls? They just make me smile and smile! Thanks for sharing.

I've not found any owl chicks in many a year - I think I need to get out more!

Nice pictures. And I admire your restraint at not taking pictures of the adults just because you had good images already! Maybe I should think about that approach!

Cheers - and thanks for linking to WBW - Stewart M - Melbourne

i really like Barred Owls very much, and while we have them in our area, I have never much seen them, let along their young. These are precious!
