Parrots with a View

I was going to crop this photo. But I love the faded hillside in the background.  I took this photo while admiring the view at Cahel Pech in Belize this winter.  I think they are Red-lored Parrots.  But they could also be White-fronted Parrots.  Bird names are so funny.  We were lucky enough to go birding with the bird book author Lee Jones this winter.  And he also joked about bird names.  Like the White-fronted Parrot.  It does not have a white front.  All I know is that it is pretty unmistakable when a parrot flies by.  They chatter so loudly.  Obnoxiously is more like it.  But I sure love seeing them.

Be sure to check out the birds this week at the blog hop Paying Ready Attention

What a gorgeous shot!

I like the parrots against that misty background. Parrots are always noisy but I would miss them if they didn't fly over my house every day.

I'm glad you didn't crop this either. Now we can see what he is seeing. Looks like a king surveying his kingdom. Wonderful image!

I love this! The colors against the gray background are stunning. How wonderful to see such birds in their natural habitat.

I´m glad you kept the branches as well. It makes it a nice photograph, not only a bird shot.

Not all bird pictures need to be all birds - I like the background!

I live in a world full of parrots - so its nice to see a new one.

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW.

Such a beautiful shot!~I love how your eye immediately goes to the vibrant birds, but then you notice the lovely background!

You were wise not to crop. The background adds a lot to the picture and the story it tells.
