There's a mouse in my liquor cabinet.

I thought I would highlight my drunk mouse in this post. You'd think he'd prefer wine since it goes so well with cheese. But see how he's smiling? He's a rum man.

I bought this little guy as a stand in for a mini rum bottle. I needed a model for my illustration. And painting the liquid was very difficult in gouache I might add. Now what do I do with it? Honey liqueur... Hmmmm. What kind of drink would Honey liqueur taste good in. Any ideas?

And since we're talk'in

rum. We bought this Flor de Cana in Costa Rica this year. It's actually from Nicaragua. And it is very, very good. (see empty upside down photo for verification) But we have yet to try # 7. We're saving it for a special occasion. Is tonight special enough I wonder? The full illustration and links are right below...

He's just as adorable up close as he is in the whole picture. Yes, I think tonight would be a perfect time to break out the holiday cheer! What are you waiting for?

Let me begin by saying you are very good - period - exclamation point, double-exclamation points. You are getting me excited about drawing, painting, cartoons in gouache and transparent watercolors -- something I did years ago and was pretty good at though my stuff was sold to editors for poetry - mostly.

I got to try it again. I got all the supplies. Just need to nudge out my enthusiasm for penmanship with some expensive fountain pens and get on with red-sable pointed brushes again. Thanks for the inspiration.

Since it is "Honey Liqueur", what better way than to make the "Bee Sting" cocktail? ;-) I found this recipe on the web:

1 oz Honey Liqueur
1 oz Whisky
0.25 oz Fernet-Branca
1 Egg White
1.5 oz Fresh Tangerine Juice

Shake well and add 3 dashes of Peychaud’s Bitters. Enjoy!

I'm glad you did a close up of the little fellow, he is so cute. I wondered what put that smile on his face.
