Do you know where your eggs come from?

"BAAAAAAH! The best eggs come from my farm. BAAAAAH HUMBUG. Oops... wrong BAAAAH."

"Here's my kind of cool red barn. I wish I could look out the windows, Really BAAAAAD."

"Here's the chickens. They're not really my friends." The sheep admitted this fact rather sheepishly.

"This dude collects the eggs. Then I have no dog be gone idea where they go." Blog Editor's note: Father in law (not the sheep's)

Now a desperate blogger housewife has farm fresh eggs in her fridge. Sheep not included. P.S. Please check out http://www.theydrawandcook.blogspot.com/ for my illustrated recipe.(using eggs!) More on that next week...

I spent days chasing sheep for our neighbour farmer in Scotland and that look of baaaahhhh stupidity brings it all back! I'd love to live ina converted barn though.

Listen, our romance novel Blackmail Bride is out! It's in Kindle, B&N and Sony ebook format as well as PDF. Check out the blurb and first chapter at our blog http://tinyurl.com/378kwb2. 10% goes to Friends Furry Farm, a no kill animal sanctuary. Check it out please and if you like it, spread the word?

Depending on what you feed the chickens, they are often better to my taste in the spring than in the fall or winter when they only get or eat chicken feed. That's why eggs sold in the stores all taste the same. The feed is the same. I like to taste an egg that tastes like the chicken was out and eating some wild onions or eating something else. Makes all the difference in the world.

I make sure all my eggs are really and truly from happy chickens. But they must all get the same feed, because they all taste the same!

In Singapore, they market "Designer Eggs", with claims of 30% lower cholesterol, Beta-carotene, Cordyceps (Chinese herb), Lactobacillus, etc. I'll go do some taste tests when I next visit ;-)

That picture of chickens and fence reminded me of my very young days in the aunt's farm chasing chickens and other animals. Thanks for bringing back those lovely memories.

You are too funny! I've always been fond of sheep, but chickens not so much since they complain when you take their eggs and have sharp beaks and claws. Really love your business cards!

That was a fun story, Sharon! So the red barn is a hen house? You know, with all the diseases in store-bought eggs, we probably should look at organic, home-grown ones. Now, why two white and one brown? :)♥

I'm sure my eggs didn't come from this beautiful farm but I sure wish they had. I love that barn, what a wonderful scene.

Thanks for the comment on my icicle photo Sharon. I love your hillside view, was that taken in Costa Rica? It is a beautiful shot.
