Lake Harriet Rose Gardens: Spring 2020

"In springtime, love is carried on the breeze. Watch out for flying passion and kisses whizzing by your head."  Emma Racine Defleur

A quote for simpler times! What if Spring mutated the Coronavirus into a love contagion? Sigh. That concept sounds like a Lifetime movie. But then again, real life is often stranger than fiction.

Life blooms anew from ashes and snow. At Lake Harriet, the smell of lilacs drifted through the air like flu droplets; stamens poked through glorious petals like Corona crowns; color spread around the park like toilet paper riots at target.

I couldn't resist pointing my cell phone around the park last week. Follow my lens...

Baby Robins. How many heads do you see?

Vacancy.

"Spring won't let me stay in this house any longer! I must get out and breathe the air deeply again." Gustav Mahler

What wonderful inspiring pictures! I would expect nothing less from you. The gorgeous purple of the phlox made me gasp and then gaze at the picture again. Thank you! :-)

So many things seemed simpler looking back. Love the bee hotel. I have one but when we left the cabin in January it was too early to put up. For some unknown reason I was worried about getting home in time to put my bee nesting blocks back out after wintering indoors. I took them outside and covered them to keep out any marauding mice who love to chew on the blocks for the tasty treats inside. I read online to leave one small hole so the hatching bees can see light and fly out. That was four months ago and I still can't get home for another month. Only time will tell if my foresight paid off or if it brought danger to my bees. - Margy

Sharon - each picture was more spectacular than the one before. And the quotes perfection for your theme. We are very fortunate in Montana that we've had few cases and deaths, and life is returning to "normal". I hope that we are doing the right thing! Thanks for putting together this post, brimming over with Springtime love and passion and beauty - everyone at Mosaic Monday is the better for it!

Wow, Beautiful flowers and great weather is bursting in your photos. Love Robins. I have a nest with some, and mama hates when I mow by them. She flies and makes all kinds of noise to scare me away. :)
